Facilities

IT is an important component in the "Master of Science in Data Science for Business". Therefore, we invest a lot in both hardware and software to expose students to the latest and greatest.

Hardware

The Data Analytics research group of the Department of MIO has a mix of 200+ servers running both (a few) Microsoft Windows Server as well as Linux (majority). Click either IT backbone or IT frontend to learn more about this.

Software

Ghent University is known to be at the forefront of introducing new software. In the Master of Science in Data Science for Business, we use Python, Oracle, R, SQL, Apache Spark, ... .
