Kick-Off Sessions of 2015 MScMA Projects
Kick-Off Sessions of 2015 MScMA Projects
This year we have a record-breaking seven projects for our Master of Science in Marketing Analysis students. Each team is three students strong plus support by an assistant/PhD student and a professor. We discuss the projects below in alphabetical order. We have one market research project for Brady and six analytics projects. The Distriplus project (see picture below) is a project on analytical customer relationship management (aCRM). Moreover, they are computing CLV (customer life-time value) for the entire customer base. The students will be using SAS Enterprise Miner for this project. This project was brought to us by an MScMA graduate - Maria Keris - who now works for Distriplus.

The next project (in alphabetical order) is for ENGIE (formerly known as GDF-Suez - Electrabel in Belgium). It’s about geospatial marketing. They analyze the market potential in Europe for a specific product offering.
Next, the SMS Timing team is shown in the picture below. They analyze customer databases of Karting centers around the world (below you see a picture of one of the team members at Andretti - a center in the Atlanta, GA area). More specifically, they integrate Social Network Analysis (SNA) in analytical Customer Relationship Management (aCRM) in a non-contractual setting.
Next, Total Refineries asked us to apply industrial analytics to an IoT (Internet of Things) case. The team is comparing two open-source analytics environments (R versus Python + Spark) for the task at hand (unfortunately all other details are confidential). Below, you see a picture during a site visit at the Antwerp refinery.
Next, the Wolters Kluwer Belgium project. The main group picture is shown on top of this page. Below, you see another picture during the kick-off meeting.
Finally, the Wolters Kluwer UK project team is shown below. It’s their task to predict B2B sales leads for customer acquisition & identifying customer cross-sell opportunities in a information services sector.
