For the IJSBOERKE project, additional computational power was needed. Therefore, we purchased a Transtec machine (Supermicro motherboard). It supports four 6-core AMD processors at 2.8 Ghz (i.e., a total of 24 cores) with a total of 256 GB RAM (this is not a typo! 32 memory modules of 8 GB, you can see them on the picture above). This is the largest memory model currently available at reasonable prices. We use the 64-bit Red Had Enterprise Linux operating system to address the entire 256 GB memory space in one application. Great!!!
